The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book is a series of stories written by the author Rudyard Kipling. The Jungle Book gained a lot of popularity among the masses. Later, it was adapted into cartoons, comic strips, movies and musicals.

The Jungle Book revolves around an Indian boy named Mowgli. He was lost in the forest when he was a baby. The wolves take care of him and bring him up. Mowgli befriends a black panther named Bagheera. Another notable character in the Jungle Book is Baloo who is a bear. He educates Mowgli and teaches him various ways of living in the jungle. Baloo later becomes Mowgli’s best friend. A tiger of the jungle, Sher Khan, has his eyes on Mowgli as his prey but Mowgli manages to save himself from Sher Khan and in the end kills him. Mowgli always wears a brown colored cloth sewed by hand in the form of underwear.

More main characters from Jungle book are Raksha, Father Wolf, and Akela. Raksha is a female wolf who takes care of Mowgli when he was a kid with the help of Father Wolf. Akela is the leader of the wolf clan. Mowgli lives in the jungle like an animal and hunts with his wolf brothers for food.
